Red bookshelf

I found this very well built bookshelf in one of our second hand furniture shops. It is a decent size bookshelf built with sturdy planks.

I started off by painting it light blue. That did not look good against the red shelves. So, I dry brush paint effect the bookshelf with the green olive paint. That's perfect! It has a nice texture on the bookshelf too. The darker patches are the brown wax on the dry green paint.

I am so pleased with it.

The finished bookshelf. It will go with the chest of drawers for the study with my read chair (I am already using it)

Painted buffet

Another painted piece of furniture. It is such fun doing this. I am hooked in a new sort of way.

The physical exercise helps too as you have to concentrate on the project and can't think of other things too much.

Paint furniture for me

I have to get replacement furniture as some of the current items will be going to my ex-husband's house at the end of April. I don't want to be left with nothing shirt and decided to start looking for replacement items.

I found this chest of drawers in excellent condition but as a very good price. I bought it as it will now be my filing cabinet.

The outside is painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, Olive and inside of drawers painted in Emperor's Red. It is waxed first after painting and then distressed with brown wax over the white buffed wax.
