My life story

I have been trying out knitting and crochet this year a lot more than my quilting.  I find that with knitting and crochet,  the results are quicker.  I actually do not have the luxury of days and days to complete a project....this explains exactly why so many quilters have tops but they are never completed into a quilt.  The same apply for "unfinished work in progress".... time moves on too quickly.

I have examples of items that I have made in a day - not really instant gratification but more a sense of accomplishment - I started something and I finished it completely in a day or too!  The other thing is that you still want to complete it if you start something,  but the minute you put it down because of a unexpected problem,  you tend to loose interest very quickly......and this results in the project going deeper and deeper into the bag with the unfinished stuff!  In the deep jungle down there....there is no way to escape.....and hopefully will not take on a life of it's own!

More about myself

25 December 2012

I like to make things for myself and for my family.  I actually can't put a name on my style as it really does not fit into a specific box - I like a combination of classic,  contemporary and country.  Definately a more simpler style....less is more!

My mother used to make all my clothes actually untill I left school - I learned a lot from her  and by then I was making my own clothes and accessories as well - in typical teen/young adult fashion,  it was not to her liking at all! :D (it was the only type of rebellion I ever experienced - but strangely,  I do not dress like the norm even now 25 years later....mmm, does that mean that you actually rebel forever against the "norm"?

Now,  I quilt,  knit and crochet but no mosiac or scrapbooking!  Life is way too short to cut yourself into too many pieces!!  :-)
